2016 Albums Coming Soon - Rabbit Wilde

I've supported Rabbit Wilde since I heard them on Band of the Day app under the name of Br'er Rabbit. I fell in love with their sound straight away. Their new album, The Heartlands, is out on February 19th and available here. For now though, here's their Tiny Desk Contest submission, Howl.

Land Lines

Love stumbling across new bands that are doing something a bit different. To me, Colorado is producing some of the best musicians at the moment. This Land Lines Tiny Desk performance just sucks you in.

Esme Patterson - What Do You Call A Woman?

I discovered Esme Patterson from her duet with Shakey Graves. A gorgeous voice with a lo-fi music style really does it for me.

Shakey Graves - And The War Came

It's always nice to come home to a parcel and even better when it contains Shakey Graves - And The War Came album. I came across Shakey from watching the Audiotree Channel on YouTube and loved the raw style straight away. I heard Shakey's style described as Crunge (Country Grunge) and it's probably pretty. At times an acoustic one man band and at others an electric band maestro. Shakey Graves is likely to be massive in the coming years. If you're in the UK catch him on tour this April quick while the tickets are cheap!

Listen to the album on Spotify or buy it now...

The Arcade Fire & David Bowie - Wake Up

I think it was this collaboration with David Bowie that got me in to The Arcade Fire. If David Bowie can play your song with you then you must have done something right.

David Bowie RIP

Sad news this morning.

City of the Sun - Intro (The xx cover) | Sofar New York

When it comes to covers this is one of my favourites of 2015 by far. City of the Sun make acoustic guitars sound like a voice is an intruder. Similar in vein to Rodrigo y Gabriela but packing a bit more punch in my view. These guys have some big times ahead of them.

Post Modern Jukebox - Hayley Reinhart - Seven Nation Army

Love the Whitestripes original but this is one sexy voiced version from Hayley Reinhart. They're touring the UK in the next few months, well worth a ticket.

Rabbit Wilde - Salt Flats

This is a band I've supported on Kickstarter since I heard them on Band of the Day App a few years ago. I fell in love with the then Br'er Rabbit EP. It hit a chord with me straight away and looking forward to their new album in February. Click here for more info. Salt Flats is a great, happy summery song and the video shows off some breathtaking scenery from the northwest of America that I would love to visit one day.

Welcome to Phil's Entertainorama Blog!

Hi all! The aim of this blog is to gibe me an outlet to post videos, Spotify links, tour dates etc for some of the bands I'm into which tends to be mainly unsigned bands from America at the minute. For a starter here's Shakey Graves & Esme Patterson with Dearly Departed.
